Missouri extends head coach Dennis Gates
It was announced Friday night that Missouri has extended head basketball coach Dennis Gates through the 2028-29 season. Gates is currently in his first season as the head coach of the Tigers, leading Missouri to a 24-9 record, which is the program’s highest overall win total since the 2013-14 campaign.
Alabama’s Brandon Miller named finalist for Wooden Award
A list that also includes Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe, Alabama’s Brandon Miller has been added to list of finalists for the Wooden Award. The 2022-23 SEC Player and Freshman of the Year had been previously left off the list of the 15 original finalists.
Will Wade named head coach at McNeese State
It was announced Sunday that former LSU basketball head coach Will Wade has been named the new head coach at McNeese State. Wade was the head coach of the Tigers from 2017-18 through the 2021-22 season, leading LSU to a combined 108-53 record, the 2018-19 SEC regular season title, and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
Alabama wins 2023 SEC Tournament
Alabama, who was already the SEC regular season champion, captured the tournament title as well Sunday with an 82-63 win over Texas A&M. Alabama freshman forward Brandon Miller also took home 2023 SEC Tournament MVP honors as well.
