SEC Basketball: Alabama on top in final 2022-23 power rankings

8. Auburn Tigers

One of the biggest teams to drop in our final update was Auburn, as the Tigers fell two spots to No. 8. As to why, the Tigers fell to Arkansas in the second round of the 2023 SEC Tournament, falling by a final score of 76-73.

Now sitting at 20-12 overall, Auburn is a No. 9 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, and will face No. 8 seed Iowa in the Round of 64.

7. Arkansas Razorbacks

Remaining at the No. 7 spot this week is Arkansas, as the Razorbacks made an appearance in the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament this past week. The Razorbacks time in Nashville would originally begin with the previously mentioned 76-73 second round win over Auburn, which was followed by a 67-61 loss to Texas A&M in the quarterfinal round.

Arkansas, who is now sitting at 20-13 overall this season, is a No. 8 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament facing off against No. 9 seed Illinois in the Round of 64.
