SEC fans, here are a few headlines that you need to know from across the conference recently, which includes transfer portal updates, NFL free agency moves, and more.
Florida F CJ Felder enters transfer portal
Having spent two seasons in Gainesville after transferring from Boston College, Florida forward CJ Felder has officially entered the transfer portal. Felder has started in 11-of-45 games across the past two seasons at Florida averaging a combined 3.1 PPG and 2.5 RPG, and is coming off a 2022-23 season in which he started in 8-of-15 games to average 2.3 PPG and 2.9 RPG while shooting 53.6% from the field.
Tennessee to face NC State in 2024 Duke’s Mayo Classic
It was announced Tuesday that Tennessee will face NC State in the 2024 Duke’s Mayo Classic in Charlotte, NC on September 7, 2024. This will be the fifth meeting between the Volunteers and Wolfpack all-time, most recently having come during the 2012 season.
Jalen Mills re-signs with New England Patriots
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jalen Mills has re-signed with the New England Patriots on a one year deal. A former 2016 seventh round pick out of LSU, Mills appeared in 10 games for the Patriots this past season, compiling 31 tackles with two interceptions.
Arkansas State hires Alabama’s Bryan Hodgson as head coach
According to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, Alabama assistant coach Bryan Hodgson is set to become the next head coach at Arkansas State. Hodgson has been an assistant for the Crimson Tide each of the last four seasons.
Auburn LB Kameron Brown enters transfer portal
A former three-star prospect from the 2019 class out of Lanier High School in Georgia, Auburn linebacker Kameron Brown has entered the transfer portal. Brown did not record any stats during his time with the Tigers.
Mecole Hardman signs with New York Jets
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Mecole Hardman has signed with the New York Jets on a one-year deal. Hardman, a former 2019 second round pick out of Georgia, has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs so far, with the one-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion coming off a season in which he had 25 receptions for 297 yards and four touchdowns across eight games.
