After yet another weekend full of intriguing SEC baseball conference matchups, here is the latest update of our 2023 power rankings, one that features a rise from both Tennessee and Kentucky among others.

Tennessee, Kentucky rise in latest 2023 SEC Baseball power rankings

14. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 14

Remaining in the No. 14 spot to begin this week’s update is Mississippi State, as the Bulldogs are now sitting at 14-11 overall for the year, as well as 0-6 in SEC play. After having been swept last weekend at Kentucky, the Bulldogs opened play this past week on Tuesday night with a 16-2 win over Arkansas State, but would be swept at home during the weekend by Vanderbilt, 26-3, 18-5, and 11-7.

Mississippi State will now remain at home for all four games this week, beginning Tuesday night with a matchup against Samford. The Bulldogs will then host a red-hot South Carolina team this weekend.

13. Georgia Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 13

Also remaining in the No. 13 spot this week is Georgia, as the Bulldogs now sit at 15-9 overall this season, as well as 1-5 in SEC play. The Bulldogs would originally begin this past week with an 8-3 non-conference win over Georgia State, but would drop the weekend series at Auburn by falling 7-6 and 6-3 in games one and two, respectively, even despite rebounding in a big way in game three with a 24-7 win.

Georgia will now begin action this week Wednesday night against Georgia Southern, an opponent whom the Bulldogs previously defeated, 17-11 and 9-4, back on March 7-8. The Bulldogs will then travel to Nashville this weekend for a series against Vanderbilt.
