Alabama G Nimari Burnett enters transfer portal

After two seasons with the Crimson Tide, the first of which he missed due to an injury, Alabama guard Nimari Burnett has entered the transfer portal. Burnett started in 9-of-27 games for the SEC regular season and tournament champions this past season, averaging 5.6 PPG and 2 RPG, while also shooting 78% from the free throw line.

Colorado Rockies trade RHP Tony Locey to Tampa Bay Rays

The Colorado Rockies traded right-handed pitcher Tony Locey to the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Locey, a former 2019 third round pick by the St. Louis Cardinals out of Georgia, started in 20-of-26 games across the High-A and Double-A levels of the Rockies organization a year ago, posting a 6-6 record with a 6.22 ERA and 93:67 K:BB ratio across 102.2 IP.

Alabama F Brandon Miller named NABC Freshman of the Year

Announced on Tuesday afternoon, Alabama forward Brandon Miller has been named the NABC Freshman of the Year. Miller, who was also named the 2022-23 SEC Player and Freshman of the Year among other honors, averaged 18.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 2.1 APG for the Crimson Tide this season, while also shooting 38.4% from three-point range and 85.9% from the free throw line.

4 SEC schools included in Top 12 for 4-star WR Amari Jefferson

A total of four SEC schools have been included in the Top 12 for Amari Jefferson, a four-star wide receiver in the 2024 class out of Baylor School in Tennessee. Those four SEC schools were Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee, with that group also joined by Clemson, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Penn State.
