1. 2007 Florida

The only back-to-back champ on this list, the Florida Gators returned all of their NBA talent from the 2006 championship team.

Al Horford, Joakim Noah, and Corey Brewer (all selected in the top 9 in the NBA Draft) returned to defend their title. And who could forget Taurean Green, the team leader in points and assists.

The Gators, led by head coach Billy Donovan, lived on their experience and top end talent to get their second title.

After a couple close losses and a 7-2 start, Florida ranked as low as 7th before embarking on a 17-game winning streak.

For the Gators, it was just a matter of staying focused.

To end the regular season, they lost three of their last five games which is more losses than some of the teams on this list had in their entire year.

But they were also the only team on this list to win the SEC Tournament. Perhaps showing how tough it is to run the table in the SEC bracket as well as March Madness.

And perhaps also showing the switch this team had.

Going on a ten game win streak to finish the year is something none of the listed teams can brag about ,and winning the Dance twice puts this Florida team in rarified air.

When it comes to history, this Gator team usually gets passed up on all-time lists for the undefeated teams such as 70’s UCLA and Indiana.

But if you account the difficulty it must have taken to beat a team with this much returning talent, it’s hard to argue against this being, at least, the best SEC basketball team ever.
