team. 525. . . . Tigers . 7

Sitting in the No. 7 spot is head coach Bruce Pearl and Auburn, as the Tigers are coming off not only their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, but also their second-straight 20+ win season. As to what that season looked like, Auburn would finish with a 21-13 overall record, as well as a 10-8 mark in SEC play, reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers this offseason will be tasked with replacing one of their top scorers from this past season in guard Wendell Green Jr., while Auburn has a few others with potential decisions to make in the coming weeks. Should a few of those names return, combined with talented freshman Aden Holloway incoming, to make up the roster, the Tigers could once again be strong in 2023-24.

. . Tigers . 6. team. 531.

Coming off a truly special year one under head coach Dennis Gates, Missouri just misses the top five in our way-too-early 2023-24 SEC basketball power rankings. As to what that year looked like, the Tigers finished the 2022-23 season with a 25-10 overall record (11-7 in SEC), which was also Missouri’s highest win total since 2011-12, as well as having made their first second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2012-13.

The Tigers will have to replace a few noteworthy seniors going into next season, but are also set to return a few others such as DeAndre Gholston and Sean East. Also adding a few newcomers to the mix such as freshmen Trent Pierce, Jordan Butler, and Anthony Robinson, as well as Colorado State transfer John Tonje, Missouri however will be strong once again, and could be among the top teams in SEC basketball.
