SEC fans, here are a few things you need to know from across the conference both Thursday and Friday, featuring LSU landing a top transfer at the guard position, Georgia guard Kario Oquendo releasing his top four schools, and more.

LSU C Shawn Phillips enters transfer portal

A former four-star prospect from the 2022 class, LSU freshman center Shawn Phillips entered the transfer portal Thursday after one season in Baton Rouge. Phillips appeared in 20 games off the LSU bench this past season, averaging 1.4 PPG and 2.2 RPG.

Georgia G Kario Oquendo releases Top 4 schools

Georgia transfer guard Kario Oquendo announced his top four schools Thursday afternoon, a list that features Auburn, Nebraska, Oregon, and Utah. Oquendo has started in a combined 59-of-60 games across the last two seasons at Georgia, averaging 14 PPG and 3.5 RPG.

FIU transfer G Denver Jones releases Top 6 schools

FIU transfer guard Denver Jones released his top six schools Thursday afternoon, a group that includes Alabama, Auburn, DePaul, Florida State, LSU, and Oklahoma. Jones started in all 28 games at FIU a year ago, averaging 20.1 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 2 APG, and 1.8 SPG on 37.1% shooting from three and 84.5% from the free throw line to be named First Team All-C-USA.

LSU lands Tulane transfer G Jalen Cook

A two-time First Team All-AAC selection, Tulane guard Jalen Cook transferred to LSU on Friday, which is also where he began his collegiate career back during the 2020-21 season. Cook started in 24-of-26 games at Tulane this past season, averaging 19.9 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 4.9 APG, and 1.8 SPG, while also shooting 84.5% from the free throw line.

Tennessee Titans agree to four-year extension with DL Jeffery Simmons

According to ESPN’s Turron Davenport, the Tennessee Titans and defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons have agreed to a four-year extension. A former 2019 first round pick by the Titans out of Mississippi State, Simmons, a two-time Pro Bowler, is coming off a season in which he had 54 total tackles, nine TFL, and 7.5 sacks across 15 games.
