SEC News: Alabama, Tennessee land basketball tranfers

Good morning, SEC fans! As you begin your Sunday, here is a look back at a few of the biggest headlines across the conference from Friday and Saturday.
4-star PG Labaron Philon decommits from Auburn
Having previously been committed to the Tigers since February of 2023, Labaron Philon officially decomitted from Auburn on Friday, becoming the second commit to do so from the Tigers 2024 class this month, joining four-star center Peyton Marshall. Philon is rated as a four-star point guard out of in-state Baker High School, and is considered as the No. 1 overall player in the state of Alabama.
4-star LB Cayden Jones commits to Alabama
Alabama football landed the sixth commitment of their 2024 recruiting class Friday in Cayden Jones, a four-star linebacker. Jones is one of the top players in the state of North Carolina where he attends Christ School.
Northern Colorado transfer G Dalton Knecht commits to Tennessee
Tennessee landed a noteworthy basketball commitment from the transfer portal Friday in Dalton Knecht, a guard from Northern Colorado. Knecht started in all 32 games a year ago for Northern Colorado, averaging 20.2 PPG and 7.2 RPG on 38.1% shooting from three-point range to earn Second Team All-Big Sky honors.
VCU transfer F Jalen Deloach commits to Georgia
Georgia basketball added a transfer commitment Saturday from Jalen Deloach, a forward from VCU. Deloach started in 32-of-34 games this past season at VCU, averaging 9.7 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 1.4 BPG on 56.2% shooting from the field to earn Third Team All-A-10 honors.
Hofstra transfer G Aaron Estrada commits to Alabama
Alabama basketball landed a transfer commitment Saturday from Hofstra guard Aaron Estrada, which you can read more about here.
2 SEC teams included in finalists for Florida State transfer G Matthew Cleveland
According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, both Auburn and Missouri have been included in the three finalists for Florida State transfer guard Matthew Cleveland, joined by Miami. A former five-star prospect from the 2021 class, Cleveland started in all 30 games for the Seminoles this past season, averaging 13.8 PPG and 7.4 RPG.
