SEC Football: Post-spring prediction for each team’s 2023 Week 1 starting quarterback
By Matt Melton
Tennessee Volunteers – Joe Milton III
Yet another potential quarterback competition in the SEC, the week one starting job at Tennessee is still likely Milton’s to lose as we exit the spring over freshman Nico Iamaleava, a name that could however continue to push for the job as we look toward the fall.
Texas A&M Aggies – Conner Weigman
Arguably the final noteworthy offseason quarterback competition in the SEC comes at Texas A&M, where Weigman and Max Johnson are competing for the Aggies starting job. As for a post-spring prediction on who starts in week one however, I’ll say that Weigman holds that label for the Aggies to begin the year.
Vanderbilt Commodores – AJ Swann
Concluding here with Vanderbilt, the post-spring prediction for the Commodores week one starter at quarterback goes to Swann, a sophomore who showed flashes at times a year ago.
