SEC News: Buchner commits to Alabama, NFL Draft first round results

SEC fans, here are a few of the top headlines from across the conference Thursday, a day that also included the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, as well as Alabama landing a quarterback from the transfer portal.
Notre Dame transfer QB Tyler Buchner commits to Alabama
Alabama landed a commitment Thursday afternoon from Tyler Buchner, a quarterback from Notre Dame who announced earlier this week that he would be entering the transfer portal. Buchner, a former four-star prospect from the 2021 class, has played primarily a backup role at Notre Dame across the last two seasons, completing 56.8% of his passes for 949 yards and a 6:8 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for 459 yards and seven touchdowns on 82 attempts.
Western Kentucky transfer C Jamarion Sharp commits to Ole Miss
Ole Miss basketball landed a significant commitment Thursday from Jamarion Sharp, a 7-foot-5 transfer center from Western Kentucky who has led all of college basketball in BPG each of the last two seasons. Sharp, the 2022-23 C-USA Defensive Player of the Year, started in all 32 games for Western Kentucky a year ago, averaging 7.4 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 4.1 BPG on 62.8% shooting from the field, while also receiving other honors that included Third Team All-C-USA and C-USA All-Defense.
4-star C Rashaud Marshall decommits from Ole Miss
A player who originally decommitted from Ole Miss back in February prior to recommitting back in March, Rashaud Marshall decommitted from the Rebels once again Thursday. Marshall is rated as a four-star center in the 2023 class out of Blytheville High School in Arkansas.
