As we officially turn the page to May, it gives us an opportunity to take a look back at what was an action packed April on the recruiting trail for a few SEC basketball programs in particular. So, let’s take a look at those programs, as well as recap who each added during the month of April. (NOTE: Rankings according to 247Sports Composite – Transfers were not included)
Vanderbilt, Texas A&M among SEC Basketball April recruiting winners
Vanderbilt Commodores
April Commits:
- 3-star SF Malik Presley
- 3-star SG Jason Rivera-Torres
We begin with Vanderbilt, who was the first of two SEC basketball programs to add two commits during the month of April, both of which came to the Commodores 2023 recruiting class, which now sits at five total commitments. Those two commits came from a pair of three-star’s in small forward Malik Presley (San Marcos, TX) and shooting guard Jason Rivera-Torres (John Marshall, VA), with the duo joining the trio of Isaiah West, Carter Lang, and JaQualon Roberts in Vanderbilt’s 2023 class.
Texas A&M Aggies
April Commits:
- 3-star C Brandon White
- SG Andre Mills
As for Texas A&M, the Aggies also landed two commitments during April, one of which came in their 2023 class in Brandon White, a three-star center out of Donda Academy in California. Texas A&M also added the second commitment of their 2024 class in Andre Mills, a shooting guard out of Brimmer and May School (MA) who is currently unranked according to the 247Sports Composite.
Georgia Bulldogs
April Commits:
- 4-star CG Silas Demary Jr.
We conclude here with the third, and final, SEC basketball program to land a commitment during April in Georgia, who added Silas Demary Jr. to their 2023 recruiting class. A former USC commit, Demary is rated as a four-star combo guard out of Combine Academy in North Carolina where he is one of the state’s top players.
