QB Brandon Allen signs with San Francisco 49ers
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, former Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen signed with the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday. A former sixth round pick from the 2016 NFL Draft out of Arkansas, Allen has spent the past three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, and has so far appeared in 15 career games in the NFL, completing 56.7% of his passes for 1,611 yards with a 10:6 TD:INT ratio.
4-star SG Blue Cain commits to Georgia
Georgia basketball added the fourth commitment of their 2023 class Wednesday in Blue Cain, a four-star shooting guard out of IMG Academy in Florida. Cain is a former Georgia Tech commit who decommitted from the Yellow Jackets back in March.
Alabama transfer G Jaden Bradley commits to Arizona
Alabama transfer guard Jaden Bradley committed to Arizona on Wednesday. Bradley started in 22-of-37 games during his freshman season at Alabama, averaging 6.4 PPG, 2.6 RPG, and 3.1 APG to earn SEC All-Freshman honors.
Kentucky F Lance Ware enters transfer portal
After three seasons with the Wildcats, Kentucky forward Lance Ware entered the transfer portal Thursday. Ware started in 6-of-28 games for the Wildcats this past season, averaging 2 PPG and 2 RPG on 65.8% shooting from the field.
Alabama fires baseball coach Brad Bohannon
Alabama fired head baseball coach Brad Bohannon on Thursday, who had previously been the head coach of the Crimson Tide since the 2018 season. Jason Jackson was also named Alabama’s interim head coach on Thursday.
SS Braden Shewmake called up by Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves called up shortstop prospect Braden Shewmake on Friday. A former first round pick from the 2019 MLB Draft by Atlanta out of Texas A&M, Shewmake, who is the Braves No. 6 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, has appeared in 24 games with the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers so far this season, slashing .243/.282/.456 with five HR, 17 RBI, and nine SB.
