SEC Baseball: Arkansas, Alabama rise in latest 2023 power rankings

Coming off one of the craziest weekends of SEC baseball action this season, one in which many of the conference’s top teams struggled, here is the latest update of our 2023 power rankings.

Arkansas, Alabama rise in latest 2023 SEC Baseball power rankings

14. Ole Miss Rebels

Previous Ranking: 13

We begin this week’s update with a new No. 14 team, as Ole Miss returns to the bottom spot now sitting at 25-23 for the year, as well as 6-18 in SEC play. After beginning the week Tuesday with a 12-10 home win over Little Rock, the Rebels would go on to drop games one and two at Missouri during the weekend by final scores of 11-9 and 13-3, respectively, but would bounce back during game three with a 20-14 win behind a four HR, 10 RBI showing from Calvin Harris.

Ole Miss will now return to action at home this weekend for three games against Auburn.

13. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 12

Also dropping a spot to No. 13 this week is Mississippi State, with the Bulldogs now sitting at 24-23 overall, as well as 6-18 in SEC play. The Bulldogs would be swept for the second consecutive SEC series’ this past weekend, falling to Arkansas by final scores of 6-2, 14-2, and 11-6.

Having now lost six-straight games, Mississippi State will return to action Tuesday night against Memphis. The Bulldogs will then travel to Baton Rouge for three games at LSU this weekend.
