SEC News: Phillips enters portal, Bell commits to Mississippi State

SEC fans, here are a few things to know from across the conference Wednesday, which included a former five-star prospect entering the transfer portal, Mississippi State basketball landing a transfer commitment, and more.
TE Foster Moreau signs with New Orleans Saints
A former fourth round pick from the 2019 NFL Draft out of LSU, tight end Foster Moreau signed with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday. Moreau had previously spent all four seasons of his NFL career with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders from 2019-22, and is coming off a 2022 season in which he had 33 receptions for 420 yards and two touchdowns across 15 games.
West Virginia transfer F Jimmy Bell commits to Mississippi State
Mississippi State added a basketball commitment via the transfer portal Wednesday from Jimmy Bell, who joins the Bulldogs after one season at West Virginia. Bell started in all 34 games with the Mountaineers a year ago, averaging 4.8 PPG and 5.2 RPG on 54.9% shooting from the field.
Ole Miss transfer C Jamarion Sharp withdraws from 2023 NBA Draft
According to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman on Wednesday, Jamarion Sharp will be withdrawing from the 2023 NBA Draft process, and will attend Ole Miss next season. Sharp, who transferred to Ole Miss from Western Kentucky earlier this offseason, is coming off a 2022-23 season in which he averaged 7.4 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 4.1 BPG (led NCAA) on 62.8% shooting from the field, and also comes to Oxford having been named the C-USA Defensive Player of the Year each of the last two seasons.
Tennessee F Julian Phillips enters transfer portal
After one season in Knoxville, Tennessee freshman forward Julian Phillips entered the transfer portal Wednesday. Phillips, a former five-star prospect, started in 25-of-32 games this past season for the Volunteers, averaging 8.3 PPG and 4.7 RPG while also shooting 82.2% from the free throw line to earn SEC All-Freshman honors.
