SEC News: Alabama, South Carolina add transfer commitments

Here is a look at some of the biggest headlines from across the SEC in recent days, which included both Alabama and South Carolina adding a transfer commitment.
4-star PF George Turkson commits to Texas A&M
Texas A&M landed the third commitment of their 2024 basketball recruiting class Wednesday in George Turkson. Turkson is rated as a four-star power forward out of Bradford Christian Academy in Massachusetts.
Nova Southeastern transfer F RJ Sunahara commits to Georgia
Georgia basketball added a noteworthy addition through the transfer portal Thursday in forward RJ Sunahara, who joins the Bulldogs from 2022-23 Division-II national champion Nova Southeastern. Sunahara, the 2022-23 NABC National Player of the Year, averaged 18.9 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 2.5 APG across 34 games, each of which he started, this past season.
Syracuse transfer DL Jatius Geer commits to South Carolina
South Carolina added a transfer defensive lineman Thursday in Jatius Geer. Geer comes to South Carolina from Syracuse where he had 33 tackles, 6.5 TFL, and 3.5 sacks a year ago.
Grand Valley State transfer WR Jahdae Walker commits to Texas A&M
Texas A&M football also landed a Division-II transfer Thursday, as Grand Valley State wide receiver Jahdae Walker committed to the Aggies. Across 11 games last season, Walker had 30 receptions for 623 yards and four touchdowns.
2 SEC teams included in Top 8 for 5-star C John Bol
Florida and Missouri were the lone SEC programs included in the top eight for John Bol on Friday, with the duo also joined by Michigan, Overtime Elite, Texas, UConn, USC, and Wake Forest. Bol is one of the top centers in the 2024 class, rated as a five-star prospect out of Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas.
UAB transfer S Jaylen Key commits to Alabama
Alabama football added a transfer commitment to their secondary Friday in Jaylen Key, a safety who joins the Crimson Tide from UAB. Key is coming off a career-year with the Blazers, amassing 60 tackles, 4.5 TFL, three INT, and a sack.
