Georgia Football: Elite 5-star QB Dylan Raiola commits to Bulldogs
By Matt Melton
Having already owned the SEC’s No. 1 recruiting class for the 2024 cycle entering the week, two-time defending national champion Georgia football landed what could potentially be their biggest addition to that group Monday in quarterback Dylan Raiola.
5-star QB Dylan Raiola commits to Georgia football
Beginning with a look at Raiola, the quarterback is considered as the nation’s No. 1 overall player in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports Composite out of Pinnacle High School in Arizona.
A five-star prospect, Raiola is a former Ohio State commit who had previously decommitted from the Buckeyes back in December of 2022, and had interest from multiple other programs including Nebraska, USC, and more.
Having transferred to Pinnacle this offseason, Raiola previously spent his 2022 junior season at Chandler High School in Arizona where he completed 64% of passes for 2,435 yards with a 22:5 TD:INT ratio. This came after Raiola played at Burleson High School in Texas as a sophomore back in 2021, completing 65.1% of passes for 3,341 yards with a 32:5 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for nine more scores.
Raiola is now commit No. 12 in Georgia football’s 2024 class, as well as the highest-rated of the group. The five-star is also the second quarterback commitment of the cycle for the Bulldogs, as four-star Ryan Puglisi has been committed to Georgia since October of 2022.
Taking a look at what Raiola will bring to the Bulldogs, the five-star is a truly elite quarterback at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, who has all the tools to be a major impact player in the SEC from day one. The Bulldogs highest-rated commitment since EDGE Nolan Smith in 2019, Raiola certainly has the potential to see time as a freshman in 2024, potentially even in a starting role.
Simply put, this is a massive addition for the Bulldogs, one that should help put Georgia in a position to land the SEC’s, and possibly the nation’s, top-ranked 2024 recruiting class later this year.
