SEC Baseball: Vanderbilt, Tennessee rise in latest 2023 power rankings

8. Auburn Tigers

Remaining at No. 8 this week is Auburn, as the Tigers concluded the regular season at 33-19-1 overall, as well as 17-13 in SEC play. Auburn simply continued to roll this past weekend, sweeping Missouri by final scores of 4-0, 7-2, and 9-7.

The hottest team in SEC baseball at the moment having won eight consecutive games dating back to May 6, Auburn is now the conference’s No. 5 seed this week, and will play Missouri on Tuesday night.

7. South Carolina Gamecocks

One of the biggest teams to drop in this week’s update was South Carolina down two spots to No. 7, as the Gamecocks concluded regular season play at 38-16 overall, as well as 16-12 in SEC play. After falling to Charlotte by a final of 11-9 on Tuesday night, the Gamecocks would go on to drop games one and three against Tennessee during the weekend, 5-0 and 12-1, respectively, as well as win game two, 6-1.

The Gamecocks are now the No. 6 seed in this week’s SEC Tournament, and are set to play Georgia on Tuesday.
