SEC Baseball: Vanderbilt, Tennessee rise in latest 2023 power rankings

6. Tennessee Volunteers

Rising a spot this week up to No. 6 is Tennessee, as the Volunteers concluded the regular season at 37-18 overall, as well as 15-14 in SEC play. After beginning the week with a 9-5 home win over Belmont on Tuesday, Tennessee would go on to take games one and three at South Carolina, 5-0 and 12-1, respectively, during the weekend, as well as drop game two, 6-1.

The Volunteers are now the conference’s No 7 seed this week in Hoover, and will open play Tuesday against Texas A&M.

5. Alabama Crimson Tide

Rising a spot to No. 5 this week is Alabama, as the Crimson Tide concluded the regular season at 38-17 overall, as well as 16-14 in SEC play. Another one of SEC baseball’s hottest teams, Alabama would sweep Ole Miss in Tuscaloosa this weekend by final scores of 4-1, 12-2, and 5-1.

Having won five-straight, Alabama is now the SEC’s No. 9 seed this week, and will play Kentucky on Tuesday.
