2. Florida Gators
Previous Ranking: 1
After entering the SEC Baseball Tournament in the No. 1 ranking, Florida drops a spot to finish the year at No. 2. Beginning the week with a 7-6 win over Alabama in the second round, No. 1 seeded Florida would go on to defeat Vanderbilt in the third round, 6-3, but would however also fall to the Commodores in the semifinals, 11-6.
The SEC regular season co-champions now sit at 44-14 overall, and will begin NCAA Tournament play Friday as the No. 1 seed in the Gainesville Regional.
1. Vanderbilt Commodores
Previous Ranking: 3
Finishing the year in the No. 1 spot in our SEC baseball power rankings is tournament champion Vanderbilt, as the Commodores jump two spots in our final update of the season. After beginning this past week with a 6-4 second round win over Auburn, No. 4 seeded Vanderbilt would go on to fall to Florida, 6-3, but would bounce back with three-straight wins over Alabama (9-2), Florida (11-6), and Texas A&M (10-4) to claim the SEC Tournament title.
Vanderbilt now sits at 41-18 overall for the season, and will open NCAA Tournament action this weekend as the No. 1 seed in the Nashville Regional.
