SEC News: Florida adds top 2024 center, Georgia flips 4-star running back

Headlined by a big basketball commitment for the Florida Gators, as well as a four-star running back flipping their commitment between SEC East rivals, here is a look back at some of the top headlines from across the SEC on Saturday.
4-star C John Bol commits to Florida
Florida basketball added the second commitment of their 2024 class Saturday in John Bol, who is one of the top centers in the country. Rated as a four-star prospect, Bol is the No. 1 player in the state of Kansas where he attends Sunrise Christian Academy, and joins fellow four-star shooting guard Isaiah Brown (Orlando Christian Prep, FL) in the Gators 2024 class.
Minnesota Twins recall 2B Edouard Julien
Having previously been optioned back to Triple-A after making his MLB debut earlier this season, the Minnesota Twins recalled second baseman Edouard Julien again Saturday. Julien, who is a 18th round pick from the 2019 MLB Draft out of Auburn, is the Twins No. 4 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, and slashed .226/.310/.452 with four HR and eight RBI across 19 games in the major leagues earlier this year.
RHP Tommy Hunter DFA’d by New York Mets
Tommy Hunter, a veteran right-handed pitcher, was designated for assignment by the New York Mets on Saturday. Hunter, a former first round pick from the 2007 MLB Draft out of Alabama, has made 16 total appearances out of the Mets bullpen so far this season, owning a 0-1 record with a 6.85 ERA and 20:5 K:BB ratio across 23.2 IP.
4-star RB Chauncey Bowens flips from Florida to Georgia
Georgia added a name to their 2024 recruiting class Saturday in Chauncey Bowens, who is a four-star running back out of The Benjamin School in Florida. Bowens flipped to the Bulldogs from in-state program Florida, whom he had been committed to since September of 2022.
