SEC Football: Ranking the top 5 conference matchups in 2024

4. Georgia at Texas

Arch Manning going up against the Gators is enticing. But imagine Mr. Football Royalty playing the possible 3-time repeat champion’s after choosing to go to Texas instead.

That’s exactly what we will get in 2024. Some may even call it the Manning Bowl.

Many Texas fans hope the Longhorns will be competitive in Sarkisian’s fourth year as mentioned earlier. A win here could be huge.

Obviously there is a lot of projecting in these rankings. For Georgia, it’s tough to continue their level of dominance for three seasons, much less four.

And for Texas, who knows how they will adjust to SEC football with a first year starter at quarterback—even if it is Manning.

But the bottom line remains, this is a sexy matchup between two storied programs. And if Texas prevails, it could even mean that they are back.
