SEC News: Tshiebwe signs with Pacers, Arkansas adds transfer

Here are a few things to know from across the SEC on Friday, featuring NBA news for Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe, Arkansas adding a transfer, and more.

3 SEC teams included in Top 5 for 4-star DL LJ McCray

Released on Friday, there were three SEC teams included in the top five for LJ McCray, with the trio of Auburn, Florida, and Georgia joined by Florida State and Miami. McCray is rated as a four-star defensive lineman in the 2024 class out of Mainland High School in Florida.

2 SEC teams included in Top 5 for 3-star RB D’Marius Rucker

Also released Friday, there were two SEC programs included in the top five for D’Marius Rucker, a three-star running back in the 2024 class out of Lakeland High School in Florida. Those programs were South Carolina and Tennessee, who were joined by Arkansas State, Georgia Tech, and USF.

Memphis transfer F Chandler Lawson commits to Arkansas

Arkansas basketball added a transfer commitment Friday from forward Chandler Lawson, who joins the Razorbacks after two seasons at Memphis. Having appeared in 111 career games at the collegiate level, Lawson started in 24-of-35 games last season at Memphis to average 5 PPG and 4.5 RPG on 56.7% shooting from the field.

3-star S Andy Jaffe commits to Ole Miss

A former Wake Forest commit, Andy Jaffe officially committed to Ole Miss on Friday. Jaffe is rated as a three-star safety in the 2024 class out of Clearwater Central Catholic High School in Florida.

3-star WR Michael Turner commits to LSU

LSU also added a commitment to their 2024 class Friday in Michael Turner. Turner is rated as a three-star wide receiver out of in-state John Curtis (LA).

F Oscar Tshiebwe signs with Indiana Pacers

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, former Kentucky forward Oscar Tshiebwe has agreed to a two-way deal with the Indiana Pacers. Tshiebwe, who averaged a combined 16.9 PPG, 14.4 RPG, 1.3 APG, 1.7 SPG, and 1.3 BPG across the last two seasons at Kentucky, previously went undrafted in Thursday night’s NBA Draft.
