8. Alabama Crimson Tide

The third, and final, SEC baseball team that will be entering a new era in 2024 is Alabama, with the Crimson Tide sitting at No. 8 as new head coach Rob Vaughn takes over in Tuscaloosa. As to what Vaughn inherits in year one, the Crimson Tide coming off one of their best seasons in recent years, finishing with a 43-21 record in which they swept the Tuscaloosa Regional before falling in a super regional in the NCAA Tournament.

Alabama is likely set to lose a noteworthy amount of production this offseason, with names such as Andrew Pinckney, Tommy Seidl, Drew Williamson, and Jacob McNairy among those who could be moving on. The Crimson Tide are however set to return others that include Will Hodo, Alton Davis II, Ben Hess, and more.

7. Kentucky Wildcats

Another team that is coming off a strong 2023 season, Kentucky sits in the No. 7 spot in our way-too-early 2024 SEC baseball power rankings. The Wildcats are coming off a season in which they finished with a 40-21 overall record, one that included winning the Lexington Regional, as well as falling at LSU in a super regional in the NCAA Tournament.

Looking ahead to 2024, the Wildcats are potentially set to lose a few noteworthy names off their 2023 roster, a group that includes the likes of Hunter Gilliam, Zack Lee, and Jackson Gray. Set to return however is a roster that will be headlined by Second Team All-SEC and SEC All-Defense selection Emilien Pitre, along with others such as Mason Moore, Nolan McCarthy, and more.
