Which SEC football team has Texas struggled most against historically?

Even despite the fact that Oklahoma and Texas will be new to the SEC in 2024, those two teams will certainly not be unfamiliar to some of the competition that each will face in the conference. In fact, both the Sooners and Longhorns have already faced a vast majority of the teams from SEC football on the gridiron, with some coming numerous times.

Taking a look at Texas in particular however, there is one SEC football program that the Longhorns have struggled against historically a bit more than any other team, which might surprise you.

Which SEC football team has Texas struggled most against historically?

Yes, the Longhorns have struggled more historically against one SEC football team in particular compared to others, with that team being Vanderbilt.

Texas holds an all-time 3-8-1 record head-to-head against Vanderbilt, with each of the meetings between the two having come prior to 1930. The very first matchup between the Longhorns and Commodores came back in 1899, with the most recent having come in 1928.
