Since its’ inception back in 2018, there are few conference’s across the country who have arguably benefitted more from the transfer portal than SEC football. With each team across the conference having landed at-least one major impact player through the portal during that time period, here is each SEC team’s biggest transfer addition since 2018.

(NOTE: This list does not include any players who transferred prior to the 2023 season)

What is each SEC football team’s biggest transfer portal addition since 2018?

Alabama Crimson Tide – WR Jameson Williams

Beginning with Alabama, likely the Crimson Tide’s biggest transfer portal addition came prior to the 2021 season in Williams, who had a combined 15 receptions across his first two seasons at Ohio State prior to transferring to Tuscaloosa. Williams would go on to have a massive breakout season in what was his lone year in Tuscaloosa, amassing 79 receptions for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns for the SEC football champions and national runner-up Crimson Tide in 2021, while also leading the SEC in both receiving yards and touchdowns.

Other Notables: OL Landon Dickerson, LB Henry To’oTo’o, RB Jahmyr Gibbs

Arkansas Razorbacks – LB Drew Sanders

The biggest transfer portal addition for Arkansas is likely that of Sanders, a former five-star prospect out of high school, who transferred within the SEC prior to the 2022 season from Alabama, where he posted a combined 33 tackles across two seasons. Sanders would go on to post a big breakout 2022 season with the Razorbacks in what was his lone year in Fayetteville, amassing 103 total tackles with 13.5 TFL and 9.5 sacks.

Other Notables: WR Matt Landers, CB Dwight McGlothern, QB Feleipe Franks

Auburn Tigers – CB DJ James

As for Auburn’s selection, this is likely the first toss-up in the conference, but for the sake of this list, the pick goes to James. James, who is returning in the Tigers secondary this upcoming season,  transferred from Oregon prior to the 2022 season, and compiled 37 tackles, eight PD, and a pick-six for Auburn a year ago.

Other Notables: DL Marcus Harris, S Donovan Kaufman, QB Robby Ashford
