SEC Football: Each team’s biggest transfer portal addition since 2018
By Matt Melton
Florida Gators – OL O’Cyrus Torrence
The first offensive line selection on this list, Torrence transferred to Florida from Louisiana prior to the 2022 season. With the Gators for only one season, Torrence would be one of the top offensive linemen in SEC football while in Gainesville, starting in 11 games.
Other Notables: LB Jonathan Greenard, RB Montrell Johnson Jr., WR Justin Shorter
Georgia Bulldogs – CB Derion Kendrick
While quarterback JT Daniels is also an option for Georgia, the Bulldogs pick goes to a prominent member of their 2021 national title winning team in Kendrick. Transferring from Clemson prior to the 2021 season, Kendrick would start at cornerback for the Bulldogs during his lone season in Athens, amassing 41 tackles and four interceptions.
Other Notables: QB JT Daniels, S Tykee Smith, WR Lawrence Cager
Kentucky Wildcats – QB Will Levis
While an argument for Wan’Dale Robinson could certainly be made here, it’s still hard to not select Levis as Kentucky’s biggest transfer portal addition since 2018. After transferring from Penn State prior to the 2021 season, Levis would go on to become the Wildcats starting quarterback for two seasons, completing 65.7% of his passes for a combined 5,232 yards with a 43:23 TD:INT ratio, as well as rushing for 269 yards and 11 touchdowns on 179 attempts.
Other Notables: WR Wan’Dale Robinson, LB Jacquez Jones, CB Keidron Smith
