8 SEC players named to 2023 Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list
There have been eight SEC players named to the 2023 preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, which is presented to the top pass catcher in college football. Those eight players were as follows: Brock Bowers (Georgia), Zakhari Franklin (Ole Miss), Tre Harris (Ole Miss), Dominic Lovett (Georgia), Ladd McConkey (Georgia), Malik Nabers (LSU), Will Sheppard (Vanderbilt), and Antwane Wells Jr. (South Carolina).
4-star PF Marcus Allen commits to Missouri
Missouri has landed a commitment from Marcus Allen, who is a four-star power forward in the 2024 class. Allen attends Norland High School in Florida.
DE Trey Flowers signs with New England Patriots
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, former Arkansas defensive end Trey Flowers has signed with the New England Patriots, a team he formerly played with from 2015-18. A former fourth round pick from the 2015 NFL Draft by New England, the eight-year veteran and two-time Super Bowl champion recently appeared in four games with the Miami Dolphins a year ago, making four tackles.
Texas RHP Pierce George commits to Alabama
Alabama has landed a commitment from Pierce George, who will be transferring from Texas. The 6-foot-6 right-handed pitcher made three relief appearances with the Longhorns a year ago, in which he held a 13.50 ERA and 1:4 K:BB ratio across 2 IP.
Georgia 4-star S commit Peyton Woodyard flips to Alabama
Having previously been committed to the Bulldogs since January of 2023, Georgia safety commit Peyton Woodyard has flipped his commitment to Alabama. Woodyard is a four-star safety in the 2024 class out of St. John Bosco (CA).
5 SEC programs included in Top 10 for 4-star RB Alvin Henderson
Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, and Tennessee have been included in the Top 10 for Alvin Henderson, as have Florida State, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, and USC. Henderson is rated as a four-star running back in the 2025 class out of Elba High School in Alabama.
