SEC Football: Ranking the Top 10 wide receivers entering 2023 season

6. Ja’Corey Brooks – Alabama Crimson Tide

2022 Stats: 39 receptions, 674 yards, 8 TD across 13 games

Alabama’s second selection within the Top 10 comes at No. 6 with Brooks, who is entering his junior season in Tuscaloosa. Across the last two years at Alabama, Brooks has amassed a combined 54 receptions for 866 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Crimson Tide.

As for last season, Brooks is coming off a breakout sophomore campaign, one in which he had 39 receptions for 674 yards and eight touchdowns (No. 3 in SEC) for the Crimson Tide. Brooks is likely expected to be a prominent name in Alabama’s wide receiver room this season, one that is among the deepest in SEC football.

5. Ladd McConkey – Georgia Bulldogs

2022 Stats: 58 receptions, 762 yards, 7 TD, 7 carries, 134 yards, 2 TD across 15 games

The two-time defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs land two players within the top five of this list, the first of which is McConkey at No. 5. McConkey has been one of the Bulldogs most productive wide receivers across each of the last two seasons, amassing 89 receptions for 1,209 yards and 12 touchdowns, while also having rushed for 178 yards and three more scores across 11 attempts.

A junior, McConkey is coming off a career year in 2022, one in which he had 58 receptions for 762 yards and seven touchdowns for the Bulldogs, while also rushing for 134 yards and two scores on seven attempts. Also serving as a punt returner on special teams, McConkey is likely to be one of Georgia’s top pass catchers this season, a position group that is loaded for Kirby Smart and Co..
