Ranking every SEC football team by chance of making the College Football Playoff

1. Georgia

The two time defending champions have a laundry list of reasons why they will be in the College Football Playoff this upcoming season.

But perhaps the most convincing reason is that their schedule doesn’t include very many challenges.

After removing Oklahoma per request from the SEC, the Bulldogs path includes four out of conference game snooze-fests, and the SEC East, along with Auburn, and Ole Miss.

Facing Tennessee and Ole Miss in late November could be interesting but Georgia looks like they are head and shoulders above everybody else so it feels disingenuous to pick against them.

And if they do lose a game, the committee will most likely give them the benefit of the doubt, just like Alabama, even if the defeat comes in the SEC Championship Game or not.
