Georgia Football names Carson Beck as starting QB
The Georgia Bulldogs named Carson Beck as their starting QB for this season. What does this mean for the chances of winning a third straight title?
The Georgia Bulldogs are going into this season with a new QB at the helm and a change of offensive coordinator. After a QB battle that occurred over the offseason, Carson Beck was named as the starting QB for the Bulldogs.
Beck was the heavy favorite to land the position and didn’t allow any other QB to take his spot. Mike Bobo is the new offensive coordinator for the squad after serving as the QB coach for the squad. Bobo will not be making any major changes to Georgia’s offense which will still flow through their offensive playmakers.
What does Carson Beck have to do as the starting QB in order for the Bulldogs to be in the national championship conversation?
Carson Beck will have plenty of time to adjust to the Bulldogs’ offense. Georgia plays UT Martin and Ball State in the first two weeks of their season. With all due respect to the players at those two universities (who are very talented in their own right), Georgia has way too much talent to lose to those two teams regardless of who is playing the QB position.
Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey will both dominate on the offensive side of the ball regardless of whoever is throwing the ball. Once Beck is able to settle into the offense, he will not have to do much in order to keep this squad national championship contenders. Oddly enough last season could have been considered a rebuilding year for the squad.
The defense side of the ball lost players like Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith but this squad still has players like Nazir Stackhouse among others. If Carson Beck plays complimentary football this season, the Bulldogs will be at the top of the list for national championship conversation.
