Missouri expectedly blows out South Dakota, 35-10
The Missouri Tigers were able to beat the South Dakota Coyotes, 35-10. Brady Cook took most of the passing plays at the QB position with Sam Horn still getting some throws throughout the game. Horn threw the only interception of the game which was part of the reason that South Dakota was able to get their only TD of the game.
It really seemed like Missouri was the way better team. Whether they were fully executing or not, it seemed the Tigers were men amongst boys in this game. The Tigers started out this game with two straight touchdowns. They ended up missing a 48-yard field goal from stud Harrison Mevis.
After a field goal from the Coyotes, Missouri was able to score another two more TD’s on their way to a 28-3 lead. The Tigers didn’t play so well in the third quarter and they started to underplay the competition. When the level of talent is so different between the two schools, it’s important to monitor when the higher-rated school ends up slowing down on the other school. Missouri did this in the second half of this game.
What can Missouri fans take away from this game?
I was really impressed with what the Tigers did in the first quarter of this game. While the talent difference between the two teams allowed for much of a difference on the scoreboard, it seemed like Missouri really wanted to take care of business. They would cool down in the second quarter of this game but Missouri’s effort and heart were there in the first half.
Missouri fell down a bit in the second half of this game allowing South Dakota to come within 19 points of a tie-ball game. An 18-point lead isn’t bad by any means but considering the opponent the fact that this was a competition at all is a bad sign for the Tigers.
