When looking at some of SEC basketball’s biggest recruiting winners from August 2023, there are only two programs who landed at-least one commitment during the month in the Missouri Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats. So, with that thought in mind, let’s take a look at just who the Tigers and Wildcats landed during the month of August 2023, as well as the names they joined in those respective recruiting classes (Recruiting rankings according to 247Sports Composite).

Missouri, Kentucky among August 2023 SEC basketball recruiting winners

Missouri Tigers

August Commits:

  • 4-star PF Marcus Allen
  • 4-star C Peyton Marshall

Beginning with Missouri, the Tigers were the lone SEC basketball program to land two commits in August 2023, with both coming via their 2024 class, one that currently ranks among the best in all of college basketball for the cycle. As to whom the Tigers added, Missouri secured commitments early in the month from Marcus Allen and Peyton Marshall, who joined the previously committed T.O. Barrett in their 2024 class.

Arguably the biggest name of those two is Allen, who is rated as a four-star power forward out of Norland High School in Florida. Marshall on the other hand is a four-star center out of Kell High School in Georgia, and is a former Auburn commit who had previously decommitted from the Tigers back in April of 2023.

Kentucky Wildcats

August Commits:

  • C Zvonimir Ivisic

As for Kentucky, the Wildcats added likely the final name to their top ranked 2023 class during the month of August 2023 in Zvonimir Ivisic. An international prospect, Ivisic, a 7-foot-1 center, comes to the Kentucky program from Croatia, and joins a loaded 2023 Kentucky class that also features a total of four five-star’s set to take the court this upcoming season for the Wildcats – Justin Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw, DJ Wagner, and Rob Dillingham.
