10. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 10

Mississippi State remains in the No. 10 spot this week, as the Bulldogs are coming off a 31-24 win over Arizona in overtime. A game in which the Bulldogs originally led by a score of 14-0 at the end of the first quarter, Mississippi State’s defense also forced five turnovers in the contest, four of which were interceptions.

Now sitting at 2-0 this season, Mississippi State will begin SEC football action this week at home by hosting No. 14 LSU in Starkville.

9. South Carolina Gamecocks

Previous Ranking: 9

Remaining at No. 9 in this week’s update is South Carolina, as the Gamecocks picked up their first win of the season by defeating Furman at home, 47-21. A game in which South Carolina led 27-14 at halftime, the Gamecocks would certainly impress offensively by racking up 571 yards of total offense, 463 of which came through the air.

Now at 1-1 on the year, South Carolina will open their SEC football slate in a big way during Week 3, as the Gamecocks travel to Athens for a showdown with No. 1 Georgia.
