10. Jalen Milroe (Alabama)

Previous ranking: 9

Milroe and the Alabama Crimson Tide will want to put Saturday’s 34-24 loss to Texas behind them quickly. Milroe went 14-of-27 passing for 255 passing yards, 44 rushing yards (which includes several sacks), 2 passing TD’s, and 2 INT’s in the loss. Milroe showed his arm talent, but also had two bad interceptions which proved costly. Milroe also did not get much help from his offensive line as he was harassed by the Texas pass-rush all night. Not nearly all the blame should go to Milroe, but he also needs to play better. For the season, Milroe has a 60% completion percentage (27/45), 449 passing yards, 92 rushing yards, 7 total TD’s (5 passing, 2 rushing), and 2 INT’s.

The Tide will look to bounce back in Week 3 as they travel to Tampa to take on South Florida at 3:30 pm Eastern in a game that the Tide will be heavily favored in. This could be an opportunity for Milroe to get some confidence back after a rough week.

9. Carson Beck (Georgia)

Previous ranking: 10

It was another up-and-down week for Beck, although he played better in Week 2 than he did in Week 1 as he moves up a spot. As Georgia used a big 2nd Quarter to cruise past Ball State 45-3, Beck was 23-of-30 passing for 283 passing yards, 17 rushing yards, 2 passing TD’s, and 1 INT (which was off a deflection). On the year, Beck has a 72.1% completion percentage (44/61 passing), 577 passing yards, 29 rushing yards, 4 total TD’s (3 passing, 1 rushing), and 1 INT.

Georgia still hasn’t fully opened up the offense, but they will likely have to do that this week as they open up SEC play on Saturday against Spencer Rattler and South Carolina at 3:30 pm Eastern.
