6. Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss)

Previous ranking: 6

Dart helped lead Ole Miss past Tulane 37-20 in a top 25 clash. While the game was a lot closer than the scoreline shows, Dart did his job in leading the Rebels past the Green Wave (both through the air and on the ground). Dart was 17-of-27 passing for 267 passing yards, 2 TD’s, and 1 INT. He also added 41 yards rushing. Through two games on the year, Dart has a 70% completion percentage (35/50 passing), 601 passing yards, 77 rushing yards, 6 passing TD’s, and 1 INT.

Coming up, Ole Miss will take on another potentially dangerous non-conference opponent as they host Georgia Tech at 7:30 pm Eastern. Dart will be battling former SEC QB Haynes King who his now the starter for the Yellow Jackets.

5. Devin Leary (Kentucky)

Previous ranking: 4

Kentucky struggled a bit getting going against FCS Eastern Kentucky, as the Wildcats were tied at halftime, although they ended up winning (closer than expected) 28-17. Leary ended up going 24-of-38 passing for 299 yards, 4 TD’s, and 1 INT. It was just a solid performance from Leary, but the Wildcats offense has not played as well as expected early in the season. However, Leary has not played poorly up to this point. So far, Leary has a 60.9% completion percentage (42/69 passing), 540 passing yards, 5 passing TD’s, and 2 INT’s

Up next, Kentucky will be looking for a better performance as heavy favorites as they host Akron at 7:30 pm Eastern. It will be interesting to see how much Kentucky opens up the playbook with SEC play on the horizon.
