SEC Football: Slight Movement in Week 3 SEC QB Power Rankings
4. Spencer Rattler (South Carolina)
Previous ranking: 5
Rattler is our third QB to move up a spot as he helped South Carolina knock off Furman 47-21 on Saturday. Rattler was a near perfect 25-of-27 passing for 345 yards and 4 total TD’s (3 passing, 1 rushing) as the Gamecocks pulled away from the Paladins. Rattler was also only sacked one time this week. On the year, Rattler has an 83.3% completion percentage (55/66 passing), 698 passing yards, 4 total TD’s (3 passing, 1 rushing), and 0 INT’s.
Rattler will hope to replicate his performance this week as South Carolina has a big test ahead of them as they take on Carson Beck and Georgia at 3:30 pm Eastern on Saturday.
3. Will Rogers (Mississippi State)
Previous ranking: 3
Mississippi State went with a heavy dose of the rushing attack on Saturday as they edged out visiting Arizona 31-24 in Overtime. Rogers only had 17 passing attempts in the game, but did his job when the ball was put in his hands. He went 13-of-17 for 162 yards and 3 TD’s (all through the air) in the win. For the season, Rogers has a 71.7% completion percentage (33/46 passing), 389 passing yards, 5 passing TD’s, and 0 INT’s.
Up next, Rogers and Mississippi State will host Jayden Daniels and LSU in a big time QB matchup. The game will be at Noon Eastern and would propel MSU into the top 25 nationally (and potentially Rogers up this list) if they can pull it out.
