2. KJ Jefferson (Arkansas)

Previous ranking: 2

Arkansas ran the ball a whopping 45 times on Saturday as they slugged out a 28-6 win over Kent State. Those carries hindered Jefferson’s impact on the game through the air, although he made his impression on the game on the ground as he accounted for 13 of those carries. Jefferson ended up going 13-of-19 passing for 136 yards through the air, 48 yards on the ground, and he had 2 passing TD’s. For the season, Jefferson has a 73.8% completion percentage, 382 passing yards, 59 rushing yards, 6 total TD’s (5 passing, 1 rushing), and 0 INT’s.

Up next, the Razorbacks will have one of the SEC’s more intriguing matchups this week against BYU. The game is at 7:30 pm Eastern in Fayetteville as Arkansas battles the usually dangerous Cougars who are now led by QB Kedon Slovis.

1. Jayden Daniels (LSU)

Previous ranking: 1

Daniels looked a lot more comfortable in Week 2 as LSU bounced back with a blowout 72-10 win over FCS Grambling. While the competition wasn’t great, Daniels showed you what you want to see. He went 18-of-24 passing for 269 passing yards, 29 rushing yards, and 5 TD’s (all passing). On the year, Daniels has a 65.6% completion percentage (40/61 passing), 615 passing yards, 93 rushing yards, 6 passing TD’s, and 1 INT.

Coming up, LSU will enter SEC play as they travel to take on Will Rogers and Mississippi State at Noon Eastern. LSU really needs a win in this one, already with a non-conference loss under their belts.
