LOCK: Mississippi State +9.5 vs. LSU

It’s still tempting to think of LSU as a possible elite team this year, but just going back to their Week 1 loss to FSU can really make you think twice.

The Seminoles racked up 359 passing yards against an LSU secondary that looked completely befuddled. On top of that they totaled 135 rushing yards. 494 yards of total offense against a team that supposedly hangs its hat on elite defense is an eye-opener.

While Mississippi State may not have the complete package of weapons and talent that FSU possesses, they do have Will Smith, who should be able to light up the LSU secondary once again.

Last year the Bulldogs were 7-5 ATS, with one push, going 5-2 ATS at home (with one of those spread losses being to Georgia, unsurprisingly)

This game may have a similar feel to the LSU-FSU clash, but without some of the stellar defensive play we say from the Seminoles. LSU probably wins in a shootout, but it won’t be by much.
