We begin this week’s update with Vanderbilt, who remains at No. 14 after their 40-37 road loss at UNLV. After originally jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, the Commodores would go on to be outscored across the remainder of the contest a combined 40-27.
Now sitting at 2-2 overall this season, Vanderbilt will open SEC football action this week at home against Kentucky.

One of the biggest teams to fall this week was Mississippi State, as the Bulldogs dropped three spots from No. 10 to No. 13 as a result of their 41-14 home loss to LSU. Never leading Saturday, the Bulldogs would trail 24-7 at halftime, and would be out-gained in total yardage by LSU, 530-201.
