SEC Football: Rattler, Cook, Mertz Rise in Week 4 QB Power Rankings
10. Brady Cook (Missouri)
Previous Ranking: 12
Missouri also picked up a huge upset win on Saturday as the Tigers knocked off No. 15 Kansas State 30-27 on a walk-off 61 yard Field Goal. Cook was a big reason that Mizzou was in a position to win it as he went 23/35 passing for 356 yards, 3 total TD’s (2 passing, 1 rushing), and 0 INT’s. Those numbers also help Cook move up two spots as well. Through three games on the year, Cook has a 72% completion percentage (54/75 passing), 732 passing yards, 8 total TD’s (5 passing, 3 rushing), and has yet to throw an INT.
Missouri will have a sneaky non-conference matchup on Saturday night as they take on fellow 3-0 Memphis in St. Louis. Cook will hope to lead Mizzou to an undefeated non-conference slate at 7:30 Eastern.
9. Carson Beck (Georgia)
Previous Ranking: 9
A slow start saw Georgia have to make a second-half comeback (trailed 14-3 at the half) as they knocked off South Carolina 24-14. Beck’s numbers were fine overall, but fans are still asking to see more downfield passing as Beck continues to mainly play it safe. In the win, Beck went 27-of-35 for 269 yards, and did not register a TD or an INT. For the season, Beck has a 74% completion percentage (71/96 passing), 846 passing yards, 31 rushing yards, 4 total TD’s (3 passing, 1 rushing), and 1 INT.
Beck and the Dawgs will dip back into non-conference action this week as well as they host UAB Saturday evening at 7:30 Eastern.
