A four-year impact player at safety for the Rebels during his time in Oxford, here is a look back at the Ole Miss football career of Zedrick Woods.

Looking back at the Ole Miss football career of Zedrick Woods

Woods originally came to Ole Miss as a member of the Rebels 2015 recruiting class, where he was rated as a three-star prospect out of Columbia High School in Florida.

Once in Oxford, Woods would go on to play immediately at Ole Miss, appearing in every game that year with two starts at safety. During that 2015 season with the Rebels, Woods would compile 25 tackles, one TFL, and one INT.

As a sophomore, Woods would emerge as a full-time starter with the Rebels at safety, which led to a big breakout 2016 campaign for the former three-star. That season included 63 tackles, 2.5 TFL, three INT, one TD, and three PD, with Woods also ranking No. 5 in the SEC in interceptions.

Woods would also remain as a starter during his junior season, starting in 11-of-12 games for the Rebels. In what was the first season under head coach Matt Luke in Oxford, Woods would compile 64 tackles, one TFL, and four PD during the 2017 campaign.

Returning for his senior season in 2018, Woods would go on to start every game that year, which translated to arguably the best single-season of his Ole Miss football career. As a senior, Woods would compile a career-high 79 tackles with one TFL, 0.5 sacks, two INT’s, four PD, two FF, two FR, and a TD.

Across his four-year career at Ole Miss overall, Woods would amass a combined 231 tackles, as well as 5.5 TFL, 0.5 sacks, six INT’s, two TD’s, 11 PD, two FF, and two FR. At the conclusion of his collegiate career as well, Woods would go on to be undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Woods would later sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent, but would never appear in an NFL game.
