Texas A&M vs. Auburn: Line, Prediction, TV Channel & Live Stream for SEC Football
By Matt Melton
In what is the SEC football opener for both teams, Texas A&M is set to host Auburn this Saturday in College Station for a highly-anticipated matchup. Auburn won a close, low-scoring contest last season on the Plains, 13-10, which snapped what was previously a two-game winning streak in the series for Texas A&M.
Beginning with a look at Texas A&M, the Aggies are led by head coach Jimbo Fisher, and come into Saturday sitting at 2-1 for the year. The Aggies two wins this season have come over New Mexico and UL Monroe at home, while their lone loss came at Miami by a final score of 48-33.
Texas A&M is currently averaging 44 PPG offensively so far this season, which is among the best in SEC football, and are led by sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman. The Aggies running game also features the trio of Amari Daniels, Reuben Owens, and Le’Veon Moss, while Texas A&M has a total of four 100+ yard receivers so far this season in Evan Stewart, Ainias Smith, Jahdae Walker, and Noah Thomas.
Defensively, the Aggies are allowing 20.3 PPG to opponents for the year, and are led by Edgerrin Cooper with 16 tackles and four TFL. Shemar Turner is also the Aggies top pass rusher with three sacks this season, while Josh DeBerry, Taurean York, Jacoby Mathews, Walter Nolen, and Demani Richardson also have double-digit tackles.
Led by head coach Hugh Freeze, Auburn comes to College Station sitting undefeated at 3-0 so far this season. The Tigers have already gone on the road once with a 14-10 win at California, while also having defeated both UMass and Samford at home.
Auburn is currently averaging 39.3 PPG offensively this season, and are led by quarterback Payton Thorne, while backup Robby Ashford has also seen a noteworthy amount of action. The backfield is headlined by the duo of Damari Alston and Jarquez Hunter, while Jay Fair, Rivaldo Fairweather, and Shane Hooks lead the receiving game.
Defensively, the Tigers have been among the SEC’s best so far in 2023 by allowing only 12.3 PPG to opponents, and are led by linebacker Eugene Asante, who has 19 tackles, 3.5 TFL, and a pair of sacks through three games. Jaylin Simpson also has three INT’s on the year for the Tigers, while Donovan Kaufman, Larry Nixon III, and Keionte Scott also have double-digit tackles this season.

Texas A&M vs. Auburn SEC Football Prediction
While the Tigers come into this game undefeated at 3-0, this will undoubtedly be the biggest test yet for Hugh Freeze at Auburn, with Texas A&M a team that will certainly be looking for a big win on their home field to begin SEC play.
