SEC Football: Kentucky, Missouri rise in Week 5 2023 power rankings

4. Tennessee Volunteers

Rising a spot up to No. 4 from No. 5 is Tennessee, as the Volunteers picked up a 45-14 home win over UTSA on Saturday. An impressive showing from the Volunteers, Tennessee would carry a 31-0 lead into halftime, as well as amass 512 yards of total offense, 303 of which came via the ground game.

Now at 3-1 overall, as well as 0-1 in SEC play, Tennessee will resume conference action Saturday at home against South Carolina.

3. LSU Tigers

Previous Ranking: 3

Remaining at No. 3 is LSU, as the Tigers picked up their third-straight win Saturday with a 34-31 home victory over Arkansas. In what was a back-and-forth contest between the two teams, LSU would amass 509 yards of total offense, and would use a 20-yard field goal from kicker Damian Ramos with :05 remaining to get the win.

LSU (3-1 overall, 2-0 in SEC) will now travel for arguably the game of the week in SEC football, as the Tigers face Ole Miss in Oxford.
