SEC Football: Milroe, Dart rise in Week 5 QB Power Rankings
2. KJ Jefferson (Arkansas)
Previous Ranking: 2
It was another close loss for Arkansas as they dropped their second straight, this time 34-31 to LSU. Jefferson and the Razorbacks hung around, but couldn’t quite get it done late as they fell to a late FG. Jefferson ended up going 21-of-31 passing for 289 yards through the air, 48 yards on the ground, 3 passing TD’s, and 2 INT’s (although one of them came on the final play in which Arkansas was looking for a miracle). For the season, Jefferson has a 70.4% completion percentage (76/108 passing), 918 passing yards, 128 rushing yards, 10 total TD’s (9 passing, 1 rushing), and 3 INT’s.
Arkansas will host either Conner Weigman or Max Johnson on Saturday as they travel to AT&T Stadium to take on Texas A&M at Noon Eastern.
1. Jayden Daniels (LSU)
Previous Ranking: 1
In our battle of the top two teams on this list, it was Daniels and LSU who came out on top 34-31 after a last-minute field goal. Daniels kept up his momentum as well, going 20-of-29 through the air for 320 passing yards, 36 rushing yards, 4 passing TD’s and 1 INT. On the year, Daniels has a 72.6% completion percentage (90/124 passing) for 1,296 passing yards, 193 rushing yards, 14 total TD’s (12 passing, 2 rushing), and 2 INT’s.
It will be another tough test for LSU and another QB duel this week for Daniels as LSU travels to take on Jaxson Dart and Ole Miss at 6:00 pm Eastern on Saturday.
