Released on Friday afternoon, Alabama and Kentucky, alongside of Indiana, have been included in the finalists for Boogie Fland, who is one of the nation’s premier basketball prospects in the 2024 class.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, the three finalists were narrowed down from what was originally a larger list that also included programs such as North Carolina, UConn, Maryland, and more.

Taking a look at Fland, the senior, as mentioned above, is one of the nation’s premier prospects in the 2024 class. According to the 247Sports Composite, Fland is rated as a five-star combo guard, as well as the nation’s No. 20 overall prospect in the class.

Fland is also considered as the nation’s No. 2 combo guard, as well as the No. 3 player in the state of New York where he attends Archbishop Stepinac High School. Across a total of 31 games a year ago at Archbishop Stepinac, Fland averaged a combined 18.1 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 3.7 APG, and 2 SPG on 42% shooting from the field, 35% from three-point range, and 82% from the free throw line.

Looking at Fland’s finalists, the five-star holds offers from countless major collegiate programs across the country, but has narrowed down his list to Alabama, Indiana, and Kentucky. When the five-star eventually makes his decision as well, Fland would then become the highest-rated recruit in both Alabama and Kentucky’s respective 2024 classes should he commit to either program.

The Crimson Tide’s 2024 class currently consists of only one commitment in center Aiden Sherrell, who is a fellow five-star prospect out of Prolific Prep in California. Alabama has also seen it’s fair share of highly-rated guards make their way to Tuscaloosa in recent years under head coach Nate Oats, which includes the likes of JD Davison, Josh Primo, and Jaden Bradley, among others.

Kentucky also has one commitment in their 2024 class currently in Somto Cyril, who is a four-star center playing for Overtime Elite. The Wildcats have also seen numerous highly-rated guards in recent history commit to Kentucky under head coach John Calipari, which includes Cason Wallace, DJ Wagner, and TyTy Washington, among others, in recent years alone.
