With conference play having now officially begun for all 14 teams, here is the latest update of our 2023 SEC football power rankings as we enter Week 6.

Ole Miss, Missouri rise in Week 6 2023 SEC football power rankings

14. Vanderbilt Commodores

Previous Ranking: 14

We begin our Week 6 power rankings with Vanderbilt at No. 14, as the Commodores dropped what was their fourth consecutive game Saturday with a 38-21 loss at home to Missouri. After trailing by a score of 17-7 at halftime, the Commodores would be outscored 21-14 in the second half, and would also be out-gained in total yardage, 532-300.

Now sitting at 2-4 overall, as well as 0-2 in SEC play, the Commodores will travel to Gainesville for a matchup with Florida this Saturday.

13. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Previous Ranking: 13

Also remaining at No. 13 this week is Mississippi State, as the Bulldogs suffered their third loss in a row by falling at home to Alabama, 40-17. A game in which the Bulldogs never led, Mississippi State would trail by a score of 31-10 at halftime, and would also amass only 261 yards of offense, as well as commit three turnovers.

Now sitting at 2-3 overall, as well as 0-3 in SEC play, Mississippi State will remain at home this week for a non-conference matchup with Western Michigan.
