6. LSU Tigers
Previous Ranking: 3
One of the biggest fallers of the week was LSU, as the Tigers dropped three spots to No. 6 from No. 3 as a result of their 55-49 loss at Ole Miss. An offensive showcase, the Tigers would rack up 637 yards of total offense, but would struggle mightily defensively as they allowed a total of 706 yards to the Rebels.
The Tigers (3-2 overall, 2-1 in SEC) will now travel for SEC football action this weekend to face Missouri.
5. Ole Miss Rebels
Previous Ranking: 6
Speaking of the Rebels, Ole Miss rises a spot from No. 6 to No. 5 this week as a result of their 55-49 win over LSU. As mentioned previously, the Rebels would out-gain the Tigers in total yardage, 706-637, 317 of which came on the ground, and would use a big fourth quarter to secure the win by outscoring LSU a combined 21-7 in the game’s final frame.
Now sitting at 4-1 overall, as well as 1-1 in SEC play, Ole Miss will remain at home this Saturday for a matchup against Arkansas.
