SEC Football: Dart, Milton rise in Week 6 QB Power Rankings
12. Graham Mertz (Florida)
Previous Ranking: 12
Saturday was pretty much an encapsulation of Mertz’ season. He was efficient, but the offense struggled as a whole and his yardage/TD numbers didn’t jump off the page at you. For the game, he went 25-of-30 through the air for 244 yards, 2 TD’s, and 1 INT. For the season, Mertz has a 79.1% completion percentage (110/139 passing), 1,220 passing yards, 8 total TD’s (6 passing, 2 rushing), and 2 INT’s.
Mertz and the Gators will have the chance to get back above .500 in SEC football play this week as they host Vanderbilt (led by either AJ Swann or Ken Seals) at 4:00 pm Eastern.
11. Jalen Milroe (Alabama)
Previous Ranking: 11
Jalen Milroe did just about everything he was asked to do as Alabama cruised 40-17 over Mississippi State. Milroe went 10-of-12 for 164 passing yards, 69 rushing yards (which led the team), and 2 rushing TD’s. Milroe now has a 69.2% completion percentage (54/78 passing), 838 passing yards, 189 rushing yards, 10 total TD’s (6 passing, 4 rushing), and 3 INT’s on the year.
In one of the premiere games of the weekend, Milroe and the Tide will travel into a tough environment to take on Max Johnson and Texas A&M in a game that will go a long way in deciding the SEC West. The game is the CBS game at 3:30 Eastern.
