Week 8 of the 2023 SEC football season has now officially arrived, with this being the latest update of our power rankings entering this week’s action.
Missouri, Florida rise in Week 8 2023 SEC football power rankings
14. Vanderbilt Commodores
Previous Ranking: 14
We begin this week’s update with Vanderbilt remaining at No. 14, as the Commodores dropped their sixth consecutive game by falling at home to Georgia, 37-20. A game in which Vanderbilt trailed 24-7 at halftime, the Commodores would be out-gained in total yardage, 552-219, as well as limited to only 18 yards rushing in the contest.
Vanderbilt now enters their bye week at 2-6 overall, as well as last in the SEC East at 0-4 in conference play.
13. Mississippi State Bulldogs
Previous Ranking: 13
Remaining at No. 13 this week is Mississippi State, as the Bulldogs were one-of-two SEC football teams to not play Saturday due to a bye week.
Mississippi State (3-3 overall, 0-3 in SEC) will return to action Saturday on the road at Arkansas.
